Throughout my scientific career the mysteries of the brain have been the root of my scientific curiosity.  I started in psychology studying the human brain and how it responds to emotional signals. My Masters thesis at University of Maryland Baltimore County focused on the olfactory systems and how they work together with the brain to protect the body from harmful environmental factors.  From there I went on to work in the biotech industry developing ELISA assays to detect biomarkers in brain and other tissue samples.

I am excited to apply my scientific curiosity to developing and implementing stable brain implants allowing for a robust brain-machine interface.
Outside of the lab I love camping, hiking, biking, playing video games, and messing around in virtual reality.
