Egleide is a graduate student in the Biomedical Engineering Department. She received her B.S and M.S in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Memphis. Upon graduating with her M.S., she accepted a Research Associate position at Community Tissue Services in Dayton, Ohio, where she executed projects involving research and development of new tissue-based medical products and improvement of allograft manufacturing processes.  She is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and enjoys CrossFit, volleyball and tennis.


As a graduate student, Egleide has investigated combining mechanical and optical techniques to measure responses and intrinsic tumor structure/microenvironment properties that may be applied towards novel technologies for tumor characterization and cancer diagnostics. She also investigated using continuous wave, green lasers as vaccine adjuvants for prophylactic vaccines. She is currently developing a novel catheter to improve delivery of chemotherapeutics to malignant gliomas (brain tumors) in order to increase efficacy of convection enhanced delivery.
