Graduate Research Assistant

Kan Long is a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin.  His experience and contributions to the Center for Transportation Research include data mining and analysis as well as contributions to the allocation of funding on the maintenance of pavement.  Additionally, he has contributed to several projects as a traffic engineer:  forecasting toll road revenue, operations, and expenditures; creating a back propagation artificial neural network model to identify traffic characteristics on crash rate; and conducting traffic impact analysis for the relocation of Whole Foods to the Domain in Austin, Texas. Prior to coming to The University of Texas at Austin, Kan worked for the Iowa DOT, where he maintained and updated statewide level intersection and crash data using ArcView.
